This would be fantastic! Incandescent blubs are getting harder to find, and they are expensive! IMO, this was a huge overreach on the part of our government. I am a huge proponent of getting natural light.
"huge overreach on the part of our government" yep. when the socialists and communists tell us that capitalism is the problem, we can remind them that we haven't had capitalism in this country for at least 100 years, probably longer, because when the government is involved, it's no longer capitalism! Free markets are free markets, but we don't have free markets in this country, nor in any country in the "developed" world.
My father was into the sun...and as a baby in the 1930s, I was put into the sun, when i was four or five months old months old. in Pennsylvania. I was raised on fresh air and sunlight...and mashed bananas as a baby. I have spent a lifetime getting as much sunshine, as possible...I have fallen going down the stairs too fast, several times....I was not holding on to the bannister. The last time, I landed hard and I just sat there, closed my eyes and out myself at-one-with the Creator. Then I got up and was totally alright...at 92. No broken bones. I never worried about wrinkles; strong bones are more important. Sunlight is of maximum importance...and every day I make sure to get into the sun for almost two hours. while I m out doing my 5 miles daily.

LED lights are a nightmare for me since I suffer from daily migraines with aura. I am so sensitive to light. The incandescent lightbulbs were tolerable.
I stayed out of sunlight for a few years, but then I became so depressed (including SAD) and had back and bone pain and infections due to very low vitamin D levels.
I have taught myself how to get sunlight and not always use sunglasses.
Unfortunately, 5-6 months of the year it is much harder to get sunlight because of the cold or overcast days.
I definitely need to write my representatives to express my medical problems due to a lack of incandescent light bulbs and how it affects me in public places.
A bill to bring back incandescent bulbs??! What awesome news!
When incandescent bulbs were discontinued, I had already known about what effects were being documented with LED lights, through Deborah Tavares at stopthecrime.net, for one. I went to my hardware store and bought several cases of 40's, 60's and one of 100's. They are still available in some dollar stores here in Canada.
It is good to do whatever small things we can to slow the genocide: eat well, get sunshine whenever we can (very challenging here), get exercise, drink clean water, wear natural fibres...the list is pretty long regarding the choices we can make. But possibly the main one is attitude. I believe it is crucial to enjoy ourselves, despite the utter madness surrounding us. We hear and read about people living in utter dire straits whose attitude is that they are grateful for their lives. That is inspiring to me.
I calibrate my sun exposure up when I haven't been in it for a while, making sure I don't burn. But it really takes a lot of sun these days for me to burn, ever since I stopped wearing sunglasses. I've told so many people this, that sunglasses block the signals that tell your skin to make melanin. Everyone who has stopped has said the same thing, they don't burn anymore.
I recently changed the lighting in my office area to YujiLEDs Sunwave BR30 bulbs (4000k) and would highly recommend if you are a light bulb snob! These are very pricey but I’m seriously considering changing the ceiling lights on my main floor - not sure if I can swallow the cost…
They also offer a Sunwave+ bulb where they have intentionally added IR spectrum to the bulb’s output.

Thank you for this article! I recently switched out our nightlights (to Amber) and am looking at other lights in the house. Funding a non- or low flicker, Amber light can be challenging. This was an encouraging read.
you can also make portable little red night lights using bicycle lights put inside an opaque white plastic food container - the Thai curry paste cylindrical containers (~3.5" high x 3"diameter) work well - which yes, are LED, but from outside the container you don't get the flicker, plus they're cool enough to not melt plastic ( : , and they're re-chargeable. . . i don't know if they make amber bicycle lights though.
Good to hear about the legislation. How many more votes are needed until USA production can resume?
Excellent essay. It is truly wild how much of what we have been told is pure BS.

Never mind the US, capitalism has not existed anywhere on Earth for over a century now, not in any large scale that is.
No one alive today has lived under capitalism.
Thank you. I've recently replaced most LED lights in my home to incandescent bulbs found online.
Once again, you provide us with essential information that is rare to find. My deepest appreciation.
If I may quote myself; "The only thing big pharma hates more than a cure is an inexpensive one."
That is a good quote.
I found incandescent bulbs in the dollar store of all places. Garage sales, old lamps and fixtures, until production is restored.

Yay!! Strong bones and muscles are much more important than worrying about wrinkles! Awesome job at 92 to have such strong bones!!

Healthlghting..com is a great source for full spectrum bulbs
I'm curious as to whether the artificial lens implants used in cataract surgery have the same negative effect as wearing glasses.....?
I've learn few days ago that artificial lenses have a built-in UV function...
Great question worth looking into.

I’ve gotten many incandescent bulbs at our local Habitat Restore .50 cents each
