Sounds like CDC is trying to tamp down the hatred and blowback for them having contributed to so many people dying who did not have to die, and for maiming so many for life.
I think the majority of the changes were driven by political considerations. I also believe that those who were once highly respected, and are now reviled at every turn, are deciding that keeping a low profile is much better than being in the glare of the public spotlight.
There needs to be a formal announcement and an easing up on the young people. If not, many parents will find themselves with very sick children -and they will be to blame for buying into the hype without doing their research.
